I'll Dream it & She'll Make It

It seems I have been short on energy & ambition lately.
But that's ok, I found the perfect solution.
Amy of Nap Time Crafter's is doing something pretty cool.
I am going to pick out something I love, and have wanted to figure out how to make.
She may pick my choice... and actually make it.

So here it is.
I don't need anything too fancy, but I love that this looks like a purse.
But it is fully padded and very large.
Also, I could see it being used as a purse, diaper bag, camera bag all at the same time.
I have looked everywhere for something a bit cheaper.
Or even a way to make one for myself.
I had saved up money to buy it...
but then I bought running shoes.

So Amy.... pick me!

Its been a long time!

Its been a long time!
Not because I have not been busy.
Although it has been a different kind of busy.
Not the sewing kind.
I have been balancing work, life, and napping!
Napping...??? What...???

Well.... coming in late February:
I should be getting more productive in other areas here soon.
Until then....

June Stash Bee Blocks

I finished my Stash Bee Blocks for Sara.
They were pretty easy and fun to do.
She is using them to make a quilt for everyone at her wedding to sign.
What a GREAT idea!

She asked for bright colors.
I swear these looked bright when I made them...
I did make a black and white block.
I am not offended if she leaves it out!

That's it for today.
Hopefully i will have more to report soon.

Cara had a birthday giveaway last week.
She turned 31!
It was only a few days after my 29th birthday so I thought I probably deserved it as a birthday gift ;)
Right?
Well I won a gift card to target.

My all-time favorite store!!!
Thanks Cara!

May Bee Block (Failure)

Its too small.
It looks like I took this picture through my screen door.
Its not my best work.
Sad.
But its done.

Playing Catch-Up

Last week I committed to Amy's One Thing, One Week Challenge.
Amy's Creative Side
I picked two things which I can say I accomplished.

First off, I made a dress.
It was to big so I ripped it all apart and am in the process of redoing it.
But I did finish it.
Once it is all ready to go I will post about it and the process.

The second thing I did was make more progress on my sister's wedding quilt.
Again, I can't show it in case she looks here....
Well, here's a sneak peek.

Besides that I attended a family wedding this past weekend.
I was able to curl my niece's hair.
Not an easy task....

Probably the most EXCITING thing though happened as kind of a surprise.
A while back I was picked to receive a PIF.
I have been stalking Carla's blog, specifically her progress reports.
Yesterday I saw she had posted about two other PIFs.
I was slightly disappointed mine was not in there...
But I just figured it would be even more of a surprise when it came.
Oh, and it was.
Stuffed into the mailbox (with two magazines for me!!!) was this:
Front
Look at that embroidery.
A-MAZ-ING

Back
I would call it a mug/rug table topper combination of sorts.
It might come to work with me & sit on my desk to keep me happy all day long.
Oh, the colors.... happy colors.
You would have thought she was at my wedding almost three years ago....
dark pink, orange, and blue.

WIP Wednesday

Its been quiet here...
Not to say it hasn't been busy.

Two of my three major WIPs are TOP SECRET.

#1
My sister's wedding quilt has gone into hiding in case she reads this page.

#2
My mother's day project is also in hiding in case my mom reads this.
I am going to visit the fam for Memorial Day weekend.
So you can see it after she does.

#3
The dress.

Kona Cotton - Mulberry

I have all of the pieces cut out.
I have a date to make it with my friend tomorrow night.
I plan on wearing it on Saturday.... pending it turns out OK.

That is it for the quilting projects.

Also as a personal WIP is training for a mini-triathlon.
(I should mention that up until a week ago.... I had never run a full mile in my life!!!!)
In order to do that I started the C25K program.
Heard of it?
I am in the middle of week seven right now.
And I can honestly say I am having fun.
Its hardwork.... but I love it.
I have also been swimming weekly.
I pulled out the trusty (almost rusty) bike last week.

So that's what has been keeping me busy....
How about you?
