WIP Wednesday

Its been quiet here...

Not to say it hasn't been busy.

Two of my three major WIPs are TOP SECRET.

My sister's wedding quilt has gone into hiding in case she reads this page.

My mother's day project is also in hiding in case my mom reads this.

I am going to visit the fam for Memorial Day weekend.

So you can see it after she does.

I have all of the pieces cut out.

I have a date to make it with my friend tomorrow night.

I plan on wearing it on Saturday.... pending it turns out OK.

That is it for the quilting projects.

Also as a personal WIP is training for a mini-triathlon.

Tri for Health

(I should mention that up until a week ago.... I had never run a full mile in my life!!!!)

In order to do that I started the C25K program.

Heard of it?

I am in the middle of week seven right now.

And I can honestly say I am having fun.

Its hardwork.... but I love it.
I have also been swimming weekly.
I pulled out the trusty (almost rusty) bike last week. 

So that's what has been keeping me busy....

Cake anyone?

This weekend is girls weekend away for my sister's birthday.

2011 year's girls weekend away

So I whipped up a cake tonight to bring on the road trip.

I used this cake recipe and this frosting recipe.

Yum!

I mean, it looks like it should be yum... ;)

We all have a four drive and are meeting in the middle.

I made the mini to leave behind for the hubs.

No sewing finishes this week.

TGIFF: Camera Strap

Wow, 3 finishes this week.

Sunday I finished my paper pieced star bee block.

And I also finished my twister table topper.

Last night I was procrastinating cleaning.

So I started AND finished a camera strap for my new camera.

The fabric is from Indian Summer by Zoe Pearn for Riley Blake.

I LOVE this.

I used this tutorial.

Its so soft on my neck!

LOVE!

My sisters and I finally set a date for our girls weekend getaway.

And my parents are coming this weekend.

So I made some Pink Lemonade Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Yes, the display at the Wal-Mart pulled me in.

I tested them... they are OK.

I mean, I will not be letting any go to waste.

However, I don't think I would pick them up again.

I cannot believe on Tuesday I took the dog for a walk in a long sleeve t-shirt!

Anyway, no Friday finishes from me this week.

I have been taking it easy.
