Kindle Fire Case
My zebra-stripe-loving sister received a Kindle Fire for Christmas
(Yes, I am a very jealous sister right now!!)
I told her I would make a case for it.
I have a kindle keypad.
Online, the measurements look almost the same.
I made one and it perfectly fit my Kindle.
I made another just a tad larger.
I will deliver it to her when we meet up on our cruise next week.
If it fits...
We will be matching.

HST Girl Quilt
I don't know what I will use this for.
But its done, and I love it.
I quilted it with A LOT of straight lines, but it went pretty fast as soon as I sat down and tackled it.
I used basting spray.
For the most part it worked out.
I learned I had to watch for tucks on the back.
I do have one or two that I missed and I was too lazy to go back and fix.
But I am happy with it.
I cut it close to crossing it off the 2011 project list.
It was the first one I started this year.
Started: January 3, 2011
Finished: December 18, 2011

New Projects
Santa Table Toppers
I stole this quilt block pattern from Sara.
I made a tiny adjustment, so they are not squares and are a bit larger.
I made a tiny adjustment, so they are not squares and are a bit larger.
I did not ave time to make all of the blocks, so my idea was to make table toppers for my sisters and I.
Well, they are definitely in progress.
But considering Christmas is only 10 days away, and I still have to ship them...
I learned a lot about machine appliqué with these.
Here is a preview of it:
1) my square blocks become crazy shapes after all the zigging and zagging.

Candy Bags
Last night I visited with a friend and her two boys who are from out of town.
I needed to get those boys to be my friend quick.
The first thing I thought of was candy.
The second thing I thought of was that I had an hour to make something to hold the candy in.
Here is what I came up with.
I used a French seam (love!) so there were no raw edges!

Baby Burp Cloths
These cutesy, girly baby burp rags are a finish!
Now we just need my friend to have her baby.
I did these a bit different than I normally do.
I added binding to them.
And I had some fun quilting them.
This is my friends first girl, so I tried to go super girly.
I picked up this flannel a long time ago waiting for a baby girl to be born.
But everyone kept having boys!!!
I LOVE this owl fabric.
I bought these all folded up as fat quarters.
So I just saw all of the design when I picked it out.
I did not see the owl.
I am hoping I can find the yardage now.
Anyone know what it is?!?!?!
Yay, for another pre-holiday finish!

Photos coming soon.
Since my basting space is taken up by construction, I took the completed top and threw it under the tree.
It will probably stay like that until the tree comes down :)

Stained by Sharpie
Awhile ago I had mentioned I received these Stained by Sharpie markers as a gift.
A few people seemed interested in knowing if they held up in the wash.
My sister received these from her boyfriend and they both knew I worked with fabric a lot and wondered if I could put them to use.
From the picture you can see that they are definitely marketed toward teens and shoes!
So here is my leftover Dr. Seuss fabric with my sample scribbles.
I wrote on it with every color so I could see if any of them faded (ex yellow).
After writing it probably sat there for about two hours before I started washing laundry.
They are a little hard to write with.
But I think that could get better with practice.
Last night, while do laundry I threw it in with the jeans and towels load!
And here it is.
I don't see any fading or running or anything.
I am very impressed.
Since this is something new I tried, I am linking up t Melissa's TNT Thurdays!

These are all opinions of my own and are not connected to Sharpie in any way.
Just satisfying my curiosity!
