Past Projects

I thought I would take some time and review a few past projects I have completed. They are in no particular order. Some are crocheting, and some are sewing/ quilting. I have done a lot of crocheting, and not much sewing/ quilting.

This one is a blanket I crocheted for a friend. I started it in August of 2008 and finished it January of 2009. This was definitely a fast project.

I liked it so much that I wanted to make a similar one for my sister Steph in a different color scheme. I started that one in March of 2009 and finished it in December of 2009. During that time I got engaged (March 2009), married (July 2009), and finished an MBA (July 2009). So it went fairly fast when including the hectic wild crazy happenings of the time (plus it helped that we were actually snowed into our house several times in December).

This purse was my first quilting project that I made for my sister Lisa. I had a lot of fun doing it, and I just loved how it turned out. I used this PATTERN, and because I have a hard time being creative, I searched high and low for the same exact fabric. I was too afraid to try anything different. Does anyone else do that? Maybe everyone is more creative than I am.

This was quick pillowcase made for a body pillow. I went to visit Steph one weekend at college and discovered her insane love of zebra print. The next day, as my sister Lisa and I were at Joann's shopping for fabric to make her chair cushions (which I still need to get pictures of), I had to buy and whip this up for Steph. She was a bit surprised.

Here is a table runner I made for my mom for Mother's Day 2010. The pattern is found HERE. I used the leftovers from Lisa's purse above.

THIS is what started it all. I saw a quilting class in our community catalog, and I took it in November 2009. We made this table runner top. I took it home and quilted it. I then made two more like it. One for my mom and one for my mother-in-law.

I crocheted these in 2006. I moved to MN and knew no one, so I had a lot of time in front of the TV. The two babies are kids of one of my cousins. They are a lot older now!

Lisa just bought  a new house. I mentioned before that I made cushions for her kitchen chairs. I do not have pictures of those. But for her housewarming gift, I made her potholders, a grocery bag holder, and a ruffle apron (which I am proud to say was not from a pattern... or maybe it was a bunch of patterns combined).

That is me in her apron.
Yes, it is a timed picture, and it took a
couple tries to get it right...

Her pink grocery bag holder in my
red kitchen... not a good match!

Lastly, one of my favorite makes. I did it also right after I moved to MN. I had to alter the pattern so it had 50 stars, not 48 (not sure why a pattern was made for 48 stars... I think it just fit easier).

I will be linking up to:

I hope to have a finish to post for Friday. Until then...
