First of all..
Go BEARS!
Ok, now for some serious business: Yay, a finish to report today! I ampatiently waiting for some more fabric to arrive to finish my HST quilt. I started with 5" squares. Since I was winging it, I tried trimming them to 4.5" blocks. It worked for most of the blocks. Although I read somewhere that with 5" blocks, I should have gone to 4 1/8" trimmed blocks at the largest. Anyway... 4.5" trimmed blocks worked out great, except for on 9 of the 84 blocks. I trimmed those 9 down to 4" blocks, and made this little pillow.
Go BEARS!

I was so anxious to get it done, that I picked a fat quarter that does not match at all!
Maybe I will just call it a reversiable pillow. Or maybe I will redo it.... probably not though!
The best part of this: I was able to practice the quilting and decide what I would like to do with the large quilt. It will be similar.

Woohoo Bears! I love the triangles on your pillow, I have yet to attempt anything besides a strip or a square on a quilt, lol!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors in your pillow.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea testing the quilting on the pillow, first. And using the slightly odd triangles in this way was a good idea, too! I love the quilting!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever used Thangles or Triangles on a roll. I love them, they take all the guess work out of making half square triangles.
ReplyDeleteI really like your machine quilting, it looks great! Good job!
ReplyDeleteLove the pillow, great save of your hard work! And the quilting looks great.
ReplyDeleteI like the quilting very much. Thanks for the inspiration.
