Wow, this past week went fast. It started on Wednesday the 22nd. With the threat of some possible snow, I decided to take the 23rd off of work so we could get an early start to my parents. Neither my husband, nor I wanted to be driving 8 hours in snow. So on Wednesday night we had our Christmas together.
My husband received
I received (and LOVE!!!!)
Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, instead of playing with my Kindle, I frantically hand sewed the scrappy binding on this quilt. It was for my sister Lisa, so it had to be done before we left. BTW, this is my first finished quilt EVER! Wow, that feels great.
This picture makes me laugh. I showed my mom the quilt before I wrapped it up for Lisa. When she saw the label she started to ask me what KLT (my initials) was for. I have been married for almost a year and a half, and she is still not used to it.
I finished at 9:30am. While I washed and dried it (which made me extremely nervous) I whipped out a quick Kindle case so I could safely travel with it.

We left home at 11:30am and took our time, getting to my parents at 8:30pm.
Christmas Eve included brunch and celebrating with my mom's side of the family. Christmas day we opened gifts with my parents and sisters then headed off to celebrate with my dad's side of the family.
This year my mom planned a fun thing to do each day.
Sunday - Shopping/ returns/ lunch at Olive Garden
Tuesday - Zoo
And by Wednesday we were ready to head back to Minnesota to 6 - 8 inches of fresh snow. My sister in law and her husband called to ask if they could use our snowblower to clean our drive way (of course!!!!). When he went to do it, someone else had already taken care of it. How awesome is it to have friends and family like that!!!!
Happy New Year
May your 2011 be just as good or even better than 2010!!!
