WIP Wednesday

#1 (number 2 on the right) -  My #1 WIP is still this quilt.
This past weekend I was able to square up the 84 HSTs I have (wow, my neck hurt from looking down so long). However, I decided to cut them down to 4.5" squares. Since my sewing is not perfect, I had 9 that I could not cut done to this. So I cut those 9 down to 4" squares and finished a mini-project. But you'll have to wait until Friday to see that. I also ordered another charm pack and material for backing for this quilt, yesterday. So right now I am just waiting for that.

#2 (number 8 on the right) - About a year ago I made my first quilt top in a class. It was my first experience with quilting. I call it my Coffee Quilt.
Except we didn't quilt it. We finished the top, and that was the end of class. I could have paid to have it long-arm quilted. But I felt like my first quilt should be quilted by me, right? I put all of that work into it, so I should finish it. Well this past weekend I took it out again. I got the backing pieced together. Now it is just laying in the middle of the room reminding me I need to work on it. The thing that is stopping me now, is the safety pins I have to baste it with are cheap ones. They feel like they are tearing through the material. So I need to get new ones. I ended up using needle and thread to baste this quilt; it was a pain.

Well, I think that's it for this week.
I will be showing off my WIPs at Naptime Quilter & Freshly Pieced
Love,
KristyLou

  1. OH! I like your jelly roll sampler! Mine is still waiting to be in quilt top form. Maybe I'll get it done this year. Here's to hoping anyway!

  3. Oooh, HSTs. So fun, but so much work. I'm sure it'll be beautiful when it's finished.

Thanks for linking up with WIP Wednesday! See you next time!

  4. I took a peek at your earlier post. :) Your HST quilt is going to be beautiful. I love HST sooo much, I just hate trimming them. :(
