2011 Projects well under way...

I left 2010 exhausted after finishing up a few projects in a hurry. I took a break while I was in Illinois. As soon as the new year hit though, I was well on my way to starting some new projects (and even finishing a WIP)!

My inspiration for the first quilt of the year came from here Red Pepper Quilts:

The fabric is a "Spring Fever" charm pack by Me & My Sisters that I received from my MIL for my birthday. The white is all scraps from the Angel Costume Project.

Here is the layout I considered. I am not sure if I will do diagonal rows like the inspiration quilt or the straight ones I have in the picture. I also think I am going to pick up one more charm pack to make this quilt larger.

  1. I like it!! Another blogger gave me a really good tip about HSTs and I'm going to pass it along to you... press the seam OPEN. Seriously. It helps with the seam bulk but it also gives that smidge of fabric that you need to make the HST the right size. I've been doing that for the last couple of times that I've made HSTs and I haven't swore (as much)! LOL!
