WIP Wednesday #9

Wow, I can not even believe it has been so long
since I have worked on anything and posted about it.
Embarrassing.
Maybe the fall weather will get me motivated.

I have two really big WIPs this week.

First of all the Dr. Seuss Quilt.
You can read more about it HERE
I need it done by October 21st, so this is really early for me.
I was able to get the top done this week and also the binding.
See the scrappy binding in the picture above in the corner?

(BTW, I have not been very happy with my camera lately.
Or maybe its me who is messing up all of the pictures)

I have the back designed.
I just need to get a little bit more fabric this weekend.
The reason this took so long for me to work on (I have had the fabric all summer) is that I could not come up with a design. When I finally did pick this and work on it, I did not like it at all. It looked too messy, not defined enough, the wonky blocks did not turn out wonky. But slowly.... very slowly.... I am starting to like it. I think I am really going to like the back.

For the second WIP this week.
I decided I needed more Halloween decorations.
So I don't know if this is a wall hanging, a place-mat, or a table runner,
but I think it turned out kind of cool.

Just some plain fabric
(12.5" x 12.5" black fleece and orange cotton)
with spiderweb quilting.
I thought the black side would be my favorite.
But I really like the orange side.
Now it just needs some binding.

I am linking up to:
WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Go check out what everyone else is doing!

Now on a non-crafty side note.
This weekend will be filled with playing with little kittens under our shed

And hanging out with my little sister and celebrating her birthday.
She's making the 8 hour drive by herself, so we will be making the most of our weekend.

Love,
kristyLou
